Great Abs Are Achievable

It is the one area that has frustrated people for years, our abs. Great Abs have been the goal for so many people, and yet it has been the biggest failure spot for people who workout. It is time that we understand our abs, and that you can have great looking abs, with the right diet plan and the right workout plan.

There are different regions of your abs that make up your core, you have the Internal Obliques, External Obliques, Rectus Abdominis, and the Transverse Abdominis. In order to get great and healthy abs you need to focus on each one of these areas, normal crunches won’t do it.  Some great workout plans that have incredible core routines are Rev Abs and 10 minute trainer.

You need to be disciplined and workout out your abs 2 to 3 days a week, if you can find and ab routine that hits every angle of your core then that would be great. Do not do the same workouts every time, it is important not to do the same workout over and over again. You will need to confuse your muscles by throwing in new exercises for each different region.

It is also important to do sets and repetitions, have some structure to your workouts, know what you are doing and have a plan. Besides working out your abdominal regions, probably the most important thing to do is eat healthy. Eat lean meats, whole wheat, nuts, vegetables, and fruit. You can have great Abs, it just takes time and discipline, and when you start seeing a little progress the more motivated you will be.

I totally agree, just seeing some progress is the best motivation for me. Nothing’s more disheartening than spending multiple days doing hard workouts and strict dieting and not seeing those long-awaited results. I’ve found avoiding the scale on a daily basis really helps because it minimizes emotional volatility often associated with the “ups and downs” of bodyweight, which is highly influenced by fluctuations in water retention. I weigh myself once a week on the same day at the same time to try and get an accurate measurement 🙂
